Expand Existing Oncology
Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA
Architect: Array Architects
Project Manager: Bray Mooney Consulting

The Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center Oncology Department Renovation is a one-story interior renovation to the 4th floor of the existing hospital. This service disabled veteran-owned small business set aside project aims to provide a larger infusion space and waiting room, as well as exam rooms, offices and support spaces for the oncology clinic. The structural renovations included demolishing existing CMU load bearing walls and replacing them with steel beams and posts to open up the floor plan. The existing roof structure had to be reinforced to allow for a new roof top air handling unit. The existing structural frame is hollow core precast plank floors, CMU load bearing walls, and steel bar joist roof with metal deck.
